Collaboration is key (video)
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, and again, and again until it sticks: nothing can be done alone! Though I’m building my team, I still consider myself a solopreneur. I’m not one of the fortunate ones who found their business soulmate(s) who can charge the entrepreneurial world as a duo or trio. I’m charging alone, but that’s a mere technicality. I never feel alone because I collaborate with so many amazing entrepreneurs who carry their own valuable skill set.

Before searching for collaborators, it’s important to be mindful of your own strengths and weaknesses. We all carry tremendous value but also have huge gaps in our abilities that need to be filled. It can take some trial and error to learn where your gaps are, but it’s always worth discovering. From there, it’s just a matter of personality fit. It’s a little like falling in love. You want to find someone you mesh with. You want to be able to work through differing opinions with constructive results while daydreaming about the possibilities with synchronicity. Of course, it’s wise to put together a working agreement in writing, but I believe this should be used for laying the ground rules and will be easy with a compatible collaborator. It’s impossible to predict every possible hiccup so think big picture to cover your bases.
